Why
Home theatres vastly outnumber regular theatres. While many of these home theatres have cinema quality projection and audio systems, they lack a mechanism to get day-and-date releases. Thus many home theatres are relegated to mostly watching live sports.
Currently the only way to watch release day movies in these home theatres is to install additional hardware to play DCP's (Digital Cinema Packages) just like in a regular movie theatre. These are highly expensive and cumbersome to use even for trained personnel. Movie producers are reluctant to use any other methods for fear of piracy.
Hit.Movie solves this distribution problem.
Hit.Movie compresses everything needed to screen a movie into a regular Apple TV Box. It does this without compromising the security and delivery specifications of current digital cinema.
Hit.Movie Apple TV Boxes can run ONLY Hit Movie Software. They are remotely monitored and geo-fenced. The content is DRM encrypted, forensically watermarked, and HDCP protected. Further, the boxes are installed only after end user KYC (Know Your Customer) is done.
For movie producers facing dwindling theatre occupancies, Hit.Movie is an additional source of revenue.
